I love birth. The moment of it is something unlike anything else, and every single one is different and special. And every single woman should be gently nurtured, supported and offered guidance, if she wishes, through that time. When I decided to become a Doula it was because of this and more. I knew that my work would be some of the most important in their lives. So I thought carefully and hard about my beliefs of birth and they are,

• That every woman is unique, every birth is unique. No two women will ever give birth in the same way.
• That every type of family, every situation, including single mothers, teens, adoptive parents and more should be treated with respect and fully included in the process of welcoming new life.
• That every birthing woman deserves a doula, regardless of her life situation and financial circumstances.
• That every pregnant woman should have her birth choices honored and supported, whether by a doula or her friends and family, in labor, birth, and beyond.

Sacred Pathways recognizes that no two women will ever birth in precisely the same manner. There are many PathwayS, not just a single Pathway to a successful birth, a healthy mother and child. Whether you are choosing to pursue a hospital, birthing center or home setting, I am here to support you in your decision-making processes surrounding this important life event, through labor delivery and beyond into the post-partum period. Education is the key and I strive to make sure that every woman, every family has the most up-to-date information available for the decisions they will be making both immediately during the pre-natal period and along the road to childbirth and after. As part of my commitment to staying up-to-date and providing my clients with timely information, this website will include a blog that presents new scientific research, articles of interest, and links to other blogs that are relevant to childbirth preparation, birthing, parenting, the doula and midwife communities.

Whether you are in a traditional family situation, a single mother, a teenager, a first mother working with an adopting family or a surrogate, whatever your family situation there should never be any fear of being judged because of those circumstances. We are here to support, educate and advocate for you and to ensure that your birth is as smooth and successful as possible whatever your birthing goals may be. This includes everyone in the family, that you would like to include, whether I am serving as the quiet voice behind dad to help him to encourage mom or guiding an adoptive mother through participation with the labor and birth of the birthing mom, every person in your unique situation is an important and key member who needs support.
